Is there any reference in scripture to slander, the consequences there of, or the way people deal with it?

If you consider yourself a real follower of Christ, then you must not hate those people who slander you. Remember the Lord was slandered more than you were, but he neither cursed them, instead he even prayed for them "Father, forgive them for they know not what they're doing". Love not just our friends, we are to love even these unreasonable people.
